WHEN #HARJAS MET BARAATI

As is the case with most chance encounters of our times, this one too unfolded virtually. Harman found us online and gave us a call. Nothing unusual, right?

But little did we know that she would fly in to meet us the very next day. Needless to say, our first rendezvous panned out and the next thing we know, we’re in Jalandhar – Harman’s hometown.

#SikhniKaPatel turned out to be one of the most elaborate weddings we’d ever planned – and we enjoyed it to bits. Jalandhar became our second home during the planning period, and the Thind’s – our extended family.

Now let’s tell you all about the multiple ceremonies!

For all the functions that took place at Harman’s home – like the Jaago ceremony, Haldi, Mehendi, Choora and Anand Karaj, the idea was to create a new world every time, while still retaining that familiar homey vibe. Overall, our decor was inspired by Punjab’s flavours and flamboyance, combined with the couple’s vivacious energy.

The Jaggo ceremony featured generous bursts of colour with ladders, bike wheels and umbrellas as our focal props. Think Punjab maximalism, at its very best!

Next came the ‘Candies & Cupcake Mehendi’ full of pastel, cute-as-a-button details.Oh and spot the Mumbai ‘kaali-peeli’ inspired DJ Console!

And finally, the breathtakingly romantic ‘Blushes & Blessings Wedding’ – for which we transformed our bride’s home into a floral paradise.

Ceremonies like the Marathi Pheras, Shagun, Sangeet and Reception took place at other venues across Jalandhar. But as you’ll notice, the splendid-yet-sophisticated Baraati style continues to shine through.
